Simply the beginning
I watched the moving-picture show first and realized later this was just the first part of a possible trilogy. The 2nd movie has not come out however. I do like to watch a series back to back if possible and I probably would have waited, particularly considering I have a backlog of movies to lookout man anyway. But there is a hype surrounding this and I was curious to run across it.
Now I do understand if some people think and say that at least 2/three of the pic feel slow to them. Because the picture is taking its time. You can meet that equally a bad affair or a skillful thing, that depends on your viewing habits and how you like your movies to exist. The moving picture does end with quite a highlight though. And I have to admit, the catastrophe itself works like it is. Sure now that I know there is more, I want to sentry that as soon equally possible - which is going to be some time.
Acting is expert, twists are nice if anticipated I reckon and there will be blood. If that all sounds good to you to you can either lookout now or wait at least until the get-go sequel arrives and do a double bill

Wickedly wild witchery.......
The Witch starts off comfortably enough with a very Korean domestic teen vibe. I found information technology a piddling annoyingly sugary at times and overstated. That said, it does fix the scene nicely for the stark contrast, that comes side by side.
This film is extraordinarily frenetic, action packed and violent. Certainly one time it gets started its never ever boring but the mayhem can go a little exhausting at times. Its not 1 for the faint hearted but if yous enjoyed films similar the John Wick franchise, you will, I suspect, love this 1.
What helps elevator The Witch in a higher place a lot of other similar films is an intriguing and intricate story and in some cases, genuinely excellent acting.
A worthwhile sentry. seven/10.

The plot of The Witch is nothing special or new with modern day cinema and then I don't really care almost how much function this movie will make it the time to come only I'm totally on board now thank to the chilling performance of Kim Da Mi behind the main grapheme Ja Yoon.At first looking at Ja Yoon I though she gonna be the kind of grapheme that don't know who she really is and eventually the truth will be revealed in the middle of the movie and the whole things will get gown with a bloodbath and I was right except for one thing:I underestimated the movie plot twist.It freak the hell out of me that Ja Yoon a cute girl with such innocent looing tin turn into this alter ego of her named The Witch a fell superpower killer.Part1.The Subversion is merely the calm before the storm so I expect swell affair from the franchise from now on

Brilliant
Excellent film. Thoroughly enjoyed it from start to end. The bandage may exist rookies simply damn .. they exceeded all my expectations.. improve than some of the hollywood stars y'all see these days. I am actually looing forwards to role 2 of this series.

Some other great Korean movie. Incommunicable to classify, in parts drama, high school, coming of age, comedy, social, horror, thriller and activeness. Keeps you guessing throughout with a very dull pace for the offset 60 minutes and a half, simply the quality of the product in terms of interim and writing is plenty to engross. The ending lets rip with some extraordinary violence and action which is enough to become your heart pumping. It all adds up to a fine little movie overall and I hope that whatever subsequent films in the series have the aforementioned level of quality.

Gloomy coming-of-age drama that evolves into a gripping science-fiction action-thriller

The Witch: Role 1 - The Subversion is the first office of a trilogy about a female teenager with supernatural capacities. This first film introduces her equally she escapes a secret laboratory at the age of eight, runs through the woods and collapses adjacent to a nearby subcontract. The childless couple who lives there takes intendance of her. The protagonist Ja-yoon grows up to become a very intelligent and gifted teenager who is however rather shy and isolated. Her best friend Myung-hee encourages her to participate in a talent show where Ja-yoon sings and performs magic. Every bit the bear witness is broadcast on national television, Ja-yoon becomes a star but also starts attracting shady characters. She is stalked by a boy of her age who is the leader of a group of criminal teenagers and claims to know her and asks her to call up what happened in the past. She is also tracked downwardly by a a grouping of armed security agents who harass her downtown and at her secluded family mansion. Ja-yoon must confront the demons of her by to protect her foster parents and her best friend and to find out who she actually is and what her destiny might be.
This first-class science-fiction movie for teenager and immature adults convinces on numerous levels. The story is intriguing and comes effectually with a few twists that likewise lead to a volatile atmosphere. The characters are attaching, intriguing and mysterious. The locations are diversified and fitting. The special effects are intense and memorable. The picture starts equally a coming-of-age drama that becomes a science-fiction thriller with spectacular action scenes. The camera work is calm and precise, the lighting techniques are crafted with care and the soundtrack blends in perfectly to enhance the atmosphere.
If you like contemporary scientific discipline-fiction films with intriguing characters, unpredictable plot and stunning special effects, you can't go effectually watching The Witch Part 1 - The Subversion. This excellent kickoff of the franchise raises the bar for its two sequels that are yet to exist released. Good director Park Hoon-jung of New Earth, The Tiger and V. I. P. Fame delivers his best film withal. Atomic number 82 extra Kim Da-mi is one of the virtually skilled new actresses I accept come across in quite a while and I certainly hope to scout more than movies with her in the future. Tiresome Starter turns into an Insane Jaw Dropping Finale!
Whoah!!! The opening scenes are very intense and intriqueing and set up the tone, but the motion-picture show then turns into a boring brewing story of the girls immature upbringing and seemingly ho-hum ,normal life...That is...till the middle comes with some scenes that are shocking and will set you back in your seat! I wont say what it is but the tone shifts completely and the picture show begins its plough to the dark side..things get very interesting and from that point on, I cant paradigm Anyone being bored with this insane action scifi thriller of Unimagineble Power Unleashed in this young girl..The activity scenes and effects are beyond superbly done and more than once I was awed at how it was made to look so encarmine disarming and terrifying.When the finale begins, be prepared for a ride to the nighttime side, as a growing sense of potential building and growing stronger is created..the atmosphere is Intense...And so a Critical mass is reached and she has come to her Full potential...And its Unleashed!!! just Wow!..I actually found myself saying OMG! out loud over and over...Listen diddled...The acting in this movie was very good, not the typical asian silliness thats frequently a stereotype of asian flick..this was acted well, with realness,and intensity..The 2 bad guys, the woman and her henchman were superb!! What can I say?, This is a boring starter that starts to explode middway and goes Supernova in the Finale! I loved information technology..Superb korean moving picture and acme notch scifi horror thriller!

Vivid Acting From a Rookie Actress and More
Make no fault, this movie's theme is thriller, not horror. And as such, this moving picture was suspenseful with plenty of twists and turns to entice the audience. However, the well-nigh vivid gene nigh this picture was the amazing acting from both the primary protagonist (played past Da-Mi Kim) and her best friend (played by Min-Si Go). Although others shined in certain areas as well, these two actresses were absolutely phenomenal, especially considering the notion that Da-Mi Kim is withal considered as a rookie who recently started her official career. This motion picture is simply the showtime function of a series that is to come and may be 1 of the biggest hits in Korea yet.

Crawly!!
A immature girl escapes an unexplained bloodbath from an isolated facility in the heart of the night. After a older couple observe her unconscious on their property the side by side morning, they take her in a heighten her as their daughter. 10 years pass and her parents are dealing with wellness and financial issues when her all-time friend has her audience for a talent show. She does well but she begins getting unnerving attending from shady characters who claim to know her. Unable to recall these folks, she senses their encounters condign more sinister and she will somewhen have to face a secretive and extremely dark past.
WOW!! Then, I really liked this. I've seen this advertised as a horror flick merely to me information technology was more gory thriller than horror. It had a great storyline, the actors did a great job and it was choreographed well. There is only one complaint from me, where's the balance!! I'm not a patient person and waiting for the sequel is zippo less than pure torture! My understanding is that is merely the showtime of a trilogy. I tried to expect around to come across if I could find a projected release appointment for the side by side installment but I couldn't detect anything on it. I can't wait to encounter the next film! Loved information technology!!

Ko Ja Yoon (Da-mi Kim) managed to escape from a facility equally an eight-yr-old girl that was a encarmine mess. She is constitute in a farm field and raised every bit the kid of the farmers, sort of like Superman. Ja Yoon is smart and talented. She enters a Korean talent show where she reveals a magic trick of levitation of the microphone. Not a big deal, but it catches the attention of those we saw in the early on scene.
Ko Ja Yoon is non actually a witch but uses it every bit a nickname. Nosotros later on notice she is a killing machine genetic experiment and that this is obviously part 1. Interesting if you like watching Uma Thurman as an Ten-man.

Good pic with a few problems

First off I really enjoyed this film. Kinda reminds me of Akira mixed with X-men. Acting is actually solid imo and the activity is very entertaining with well put together fight scenes. My main consequence with this picture is the plot. I wanted to know more than of the motivations of why these super children were being created.
What'southward the end purpose and are they just mindless killing machines? I also wish nosotros could sympathise with the primary character more considering it shows she does at Least care about her foster mother. I just didn't get a sense of cohesion or point to anything the characters were doing. Multiple interesting characters kinda only show up, look cool, and merely get completely destroyed past the girl. I was willing to wait past all of that because I assume there volition be another film and these topics will be explored more than.

For those folks who says that this film took besides much storytelling, so ho-hum for an hour; blah,apathetic, blah- It is like you are reading a book! You demand specific and physical details to totally understand what story you are into.
Expert job for the director!

Delightful.
A joy ride. A little girl escapes the institution she lives in, with other children, no parents in sight. After running every bit far as her preschool limbs could have her, she collapses in a farmer's field. She wins the farming couples' hearts and they all three share a loving lively uplifting life. It'south all very supermanish. 10 years later on she appears on tv, which brings to the attention of the very people she ran away from all those many long years ago. This motion picture is a swell wrapping of the traditional fight-style in a loftier digital glare; it'southward cute camera piece of work in what feels ballsy. Plus I'm all virtually that sidekick there, Get Min-si.

Ending is manner ameliorate than the beginning three quarters
As usual there's a huge number of ix or x star reviews from single review accounts trying to heave the rating. Don't exist fooled! Great catastrophe but the rest is slow and derivative.
Very irksome to build to anything. The commencement hour could be hands cut to 30 mins or less to better pacing without losing annihilation and would definitely ameliorate the story of the ii school girls. It's quite tiresome and childish at times.
Reviewers seem to praise the action but there is very little activeness and the plot expositions near the end should have been the meat of the movie.
However...
The cease action sequence is superbly put together, decently long, violent and entertaining. Activity fans should scout information technology for this alone on a streaming service.
If at that place'south ever a 'Role two' and information technology carries on in the style of the catastrophe it'd be a a truly great activity film.

Highly underrated, awesome activeness movie!
This pic is highly underrated here! It is by far one of the best action movies I accept watched in the concluding few years! The plot is masterfully written, keeps you on your toes the entire time and takes turns y'all never ever expected! I watched it on my flight and boy, oh male child i did non fifty-fifty accept a bathroom break until I finished watching it, it was that skillful and full of suspense!
Requite it a go and meet for yourselves! Highly recommended!

Superbbb Witch!
I don't have watched any Korean series or movies just after watching this i can't wait for the second role. I mean information technology is the pic of Hollywood level. The catastrophe was astonishing with a really skilful surprise just I loved the way this motion picture went through specially the final 40 minutes which went in a quick and smart style. Doesn't matter from which state yous are from but you need to believe that this movie is a really good foreign movie.

Kids looking a trivial bit likewise absurd
The picture looks great but I didn't like information technology at all. It's too wannabe American. Style over substance. The basic premise is a bit similar to Ten-Men, kids with special powers. But there is just so much disbelief you can suspend and young girls beingness super badass at gunplay and effortlessly killing multipe grown men is simply slow and impaired. There's also not really a character in there you can actually understand with. Simply a agglomeration of cartoonish bad guys and teenage psychopaths trying a niggling bit as well hard to look cool, arrogant and aloof.

I saw Witch the subversion when information technology was released and have been waiting for the sequel that'south already done or in post! This is a wild ride from K pop to...a witch(?) Hyper tearing and we'll choreographed.

Loved it !!
Honestly thought it was a book adaptation . Information technology's was then good. Even though she was special when she was young because she was raised differently I idea she would be weak. Dear the concept where the hunter becomes the hunted. They all thought they had her in the palm of their hands . That'due south didn't go well!!

Perfect pic
I've stopped watching Hollywood movies loaded with faux, "political" correctness and cheesiness ( two exceptions: Sicario & John Wick). South Korean movies are delivering A+ entertaining time for me and my friends few years now. I can't wait for the second part of this 1. Enjoy!
